Qualifications

• ParaPro Certification is required.
• At least one year of successful work experience.
• Previous experience working with special education students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports the teacher in special education classes with all aspects of the day, including instruction, reviews, and behavior interventions.
• Ensures compliance with assignments and extracurricular duties outlined by the teacher and/or principal.
• Provides instructional support and remediation during academic lessons and activities.
• Provides functional support with daily life skills.
• Assists in preparing the classroom and instructional materials.
• Monitors students and provides coverage when the teacher is away.
• Monitors classroom behaviors and assists students with adaptive behavior skills.
