Job summary

Lake Forest High School District 115 is seeking a full-time 10 month, 7.5 hr/day Special Education Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities and assist instructional staff.

The incumbent will adapt materials, monitor IEP goals, maintain confidentiality, and participate in crisis interventions as needed, under supervision of a certified teacher. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Illinois Professional Educator License, Paraprofessional License, or Substitute License.
• Ability to obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training.

Responsibilities

• Support students with IEP goals in instructional settings.
• Adapt assignments and materials under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Maintain confidential student information and assist with data collection.
• Collaborate with staff to implement behavior plans and crisis interventions.
• Assist with health-related tasks as directed by the nurse.
