Job summary

The Center for Disability Services invites applications for Teaching Assistant positions at the Prospect Center school in Queensbury, NY. The role supports teachers, assists with students’ activities, and participates in daily living tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must obtain NYS Teaching Assistant Certification within one year of hire.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional activities under teacher direction.
• May assume class duties when the teacher is unavailable.
• Follow mobility, dining and daily living protocols as needed.
• Support student management and environment setup.
• Deliver information to supervisor and team in a timely manner.
• Communicate with parents verbally or in writing as directed.
• Participate in classroom dining program.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
