Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to support students with special needs in a vibrant district near Wilmington, DE. These onsite contract positions run for the 2026-2027 school year, providing a chance to foster growth throughout the academic year.

Your site can be tailored to elementary, middle, or high school students, with five days a week and 35 hours per week. You will work with dedicated teams to implement IEPs and differentiated instruction.

Qualifications

• Valid Delaware Special Education Teacher license (required).
• Experience working with children/adolescents in a school setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEPs and differentiated instruction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction aligned to students' IEPs.
• Develop and assess lesson plans for diverse needs.
• Monitor progress, document accurately, participate in IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and service providers.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Schedules generally run Monday through Friday, with 35 hours per week and site-specific hours to fit the age group you serve.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Delaware Special Education Teacher license (required)
• Demonstrated experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting
• Strong understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and best practices for special education
• Skill in building rapport with students, families, and collaborative teaching teams
• Excellence in communication, organization, and classroom management

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction in accordance with students IEPs
• Develop, implement, and assess lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other service providers
