Job summary

Clarvida is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support youth in Wilmington, Delaware on-site. The role is part-time with school hours from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM and focuses on 1:1 instruction and blended learning in an alternative school setting.

You will collaborate with school staff to support IEP goals, monitor progress, and provide feedback in a structured, supportive environment. Delaware SPED certification or reciprocity eligibility is required, with background checks mandated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education with Special Education certification
• Delaware certification required or eligibility for reciprocity from another state to obtain Delaware reciprocity

About the Role

Clarvida is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support youth referred by the public school system in our alternative school placement. Students are assigned for 45-180 days and receive a blended, skill-based learning experience designed to help them succeed academically, behaviorally, and emotionally.

Our individualized 1:1 instruction model provides personalized support tailored to each student's needs through hands-on learning, restorative circles, and an online curriculum, we create an environment where students feel supported and understood. Teachers work within a close-knit team that helps students build long-term success, and many former students return years later to share their progress and accomplishments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized, skill-based instruction in a one-on-one setting
• Implement a blended curriculum using hands-on projects, restorative circles, and online learning
• Support IEP goals and collaborate with school staff
• Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive environment
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and Delaware Certification in Special Education
• OR Bachelor's Degree with Special Education Certification from another state (Clarvida will assist with Delaware reciprocity)
• Able to pass background and criminal record checks
• Meets mandated health requirements (e.g., negative tuberculosis test)
• Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
