Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) seeks a dedicated Teacher: Special Education to support students with disabilities in traditional classrooms or virtual programs. The role emphasizes planning, delivery, and evaluation of IEP services in the Least Restrictive Environment and collaboration with general education staff.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Maryland MSDE licensure, and experience with virtual learning technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field required.
• One year experience with virtual learning technology and remote instruction platforms if assigned to Virtual Academy required.
• Hold or be eligible for educator certificate/license issued by Maryland MSDE.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and provides individualized and group instruction in-class or via virtual programs.
• Assesses student progress with tests and observation, and provides progress reports.
• Facilitates implementation of special education services in the LRE and collaborates on IEPs.
• Communicates with parents through in-person or virtual conferences and IEP meetings.
• Maintains accurate records and participates in staff meetings and professional development.
