Job summary

Grafton in Virginia seeks a Special Education Teacher to transform challenges into progress and support students with complex needs. You will develop IEPs, plan lessons, assess progress and collaborate with educators, clinicians and support staff to deliver a community of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education required.
• Virginia teaching license or eligibility for conditional license.
• 1 year of teaching students with special needs preferred; equivalent experience.
• State Teaching Certificate in Special Education required.
• Mandt and UKERU certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement academic lessons and IEP goals for students in assigned program.
• Develop, plan and implement lesson plans aligned with identified goals.
• Document and evaluate student progress; supervise instructional assistants.
• Lead classroom staff and ensure documentation for progress reports.
• Prepare program reports and participate in conferences/workshops.
