Job summary

Grafton Integrated Health Network is seeking a Career & Technical Education Teacher to deliver instruction and coordinate internships for students with complex needs in Virginia. The role includes developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and building external partnerships to place students in work experiences.

Requires a Virginia teaching license or eligibility, a bachelor’s degree in Special Education, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in special education or related field.
• Requires a valid driver's license.
• Requires a valid Virginia teaching license or eligibility for a provisional license.
• Prefer 1 year of experience teaching students with special educational needs; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Requires certification as a greenhouse manager

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement career and technical education instruction and develop areas of specialization with lesson plans.
• Assess students’ career abilities, interests, and skills annually; provide recommendations to treatment team.
• Coordinate work placements through collaboration with community partners and internal staff.
• Maintain documentation for assessments, internship agreements, and certifications.
• Create and maintain partnerships with external organizations to support internships and work-study placements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education

Driver's license

Virginia teaching license or eligibility

Experience with students with special needs

Greenhouse manager certification
