Job summary

YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students aged 17–20 within a strengths-based program. You will prepare and adjust IEPs, collaborate with classroom and workforce development staff, and mentor 4–5 students to promote post-secondary success.

The role emphasizes equity, collaboration, and strong interpersonal skills in a restorative-justice school culture. Bachelor’s required; PA Special Ed certificate expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Current PA Special Education teaching certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Write IEPs and attend IEP meetings.
• Maintain student files (digital and paper).
• Revise IEP goals to maximize achievement.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver specialized instruction.
• Mentor a cohort of 4–5 students to support graduation readiness.
• Provide ongoing feedback on student progress.
