Job summary

Behavioral Health Allies is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our Academy. You will design instruction aligned to IEPs, support functional life skills, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet intense student needs.

The role requires calm yet structured leadership in a high-support classroom, with a focus on advocacy, consistency, and data-driven progress for students with significant challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education; Master’s preferred.
• Current Missouri licensure as Special Education Teacher; Autism/Behavioral Disabilities endorsement preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with significant developmental disabilities and intensive supports.
• Experience in high-support or self-contained classrooms is highly preferred.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs with individualized instruction.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver instruction aligned with each student’s IEP and support life skills.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address educational and behavioral needs.
• Provide leadership and coaching to paraprofessionals with fidelity to plans.
• Maintain confidentiality, documentation, and required reporting with accuracy.
