Job summary

CAPS Collaborative is seeking a dynamic special education teacher with severe/profound certification to join our educational team in a public school setting. You will work in a developmentally appropriate classroom with an embedded therapy model and collaborate with related service providers to customize education plans.

Responsibilities include creating IEPs, developing lesson plans, and tracking student progress while maintaining compliance with IDEA, 504 plans, and state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education required; Masters preferred.
• Experience with students with severe, multiple disabilities and medically fragile profiles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and assist with daily living activities.

Responsibilities

• Develops individualized education programs (IEPs) and related lesson plans.
• Collaborates with related service providers in an embedded therapy model.
• Maintains IEP documentation and progress reports on a quarterly basis.
• Supports students with behavioral needs and safety in the classroom.
