Job summary

Christopher Columbus Charter School seeks a full-time Special Education Teacher for an elementary class (K–4) to provide supplemental support to students with more acute needs. The 10-month role runs 8:00 AM–3:45 PM.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree and preferably a PDE Special Education Teaching Certificate; prior K-8 SPED experience and familiarity with autism, IDD, and behavioral health are valued. A flexible, collaborative professional with excellent attendance is essential.

Job description

We are currently searching for a full-time Special Education Teacher to work at our Elementary school (Grades K through 4). This position will teach a class offering supplemental support to our students with more acute needs.

This is a 10-month position; work hours are from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM.

Qualifications For The Position Include

• PDE Special Education Teaching Certificate preferred, ER Certification considered
• A bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution required
• Previous experience teaching in a K-8 setting, specifically in a self-contained special education classroom serving multiple grade levels, is highly desired
• Experience with autism, IDD and behavioral health is preferred
• A flexible personality that demonstrates enthusiasm, celebrates success, and responds positively to adversity
• An interpersonal skillset that fosters positive communication with students, staff, administration, and parents
• A strong work ethic and an excellent attendance record
