Brightway Living & Learning is seeking a Special Education Teacher for its School Age Program in Huntington, NY. The role involves educating children with developmental disabilities in a supportive classroom environment. Strong interpersonal communication skills and a NYS teaching certification in Special Education are required.

Formación

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree and NYS teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.
• Interest in working with developmentally disabled individuals is required.
• Must possess good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Set up classroom, structure schedule, and implement IEPs in the classroom.
• Develop and use behavior management systems according to policy.
• Plan and implement a daily structured program with activities to achieve IEP goals.
• Prepare and maintain all required records and paperwork.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
