Job summary

Acceleration Academies in Florida is seeking a Special Education Teacher to serve Graduation Candidates with competency-based instruction and individualized learning supports. This role is part of a new academy launch and requires collaboration with a team to deliver academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented guidance toward graduation and post-secondary success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Florida 6-12 educator license with a secondary ESE/Special Education endorsement (REQUIRED).
• Minimum 2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a focus on inclusivity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Enrollment: support new student enrollment through recruitment and outreach efforts and help create personalized learning plans.
• Retention: serve as an advisor, maintain communication with students and support team, monitor attendance and progress for ongoing engagement.
• Academics: plan and deliver subject-specific instruction, conduct formative and summative assessments, analyze data to inform instruction, and support IEP/ELL accommodations.
• Advocacy: develop personalized learning pathways, participate in academy meetings, and represent the academy in community events to promote student success.
• Other duties: perform additional responsibilities to advance the academy's mission and goals.
