Job summary

Bucks County Intermediate Unit in Doylestown, PA seeks a Special Education Teacher for Specials to deliver standards-aligned, evidence-based instruction in art, music, health, and physical education. The teacher will develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, collect student data, and collaborate with families and school districts to support growth.

Instruction may occur in classroom, community, home, or other educational settings as needed; travel to Bucks IU locations is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required.
PA Special Education Certification required.
Master’s Degree beneficial.

Responsibilities

Provide direct instruction in Bucks IU related classes (specials), including art, music, health and/or physical education.
Regular attendance and reliable on-site presence.
Follow all applicable state and federal special education requirements, including Chapter 14 and IDEA, and Pennsylvania guidance.
Review procedural safeguards and summarize them for families at least once per year.
Complete evaluations (ERs) and re-evaluations (RRs) with input from team members and families.
Develop, write, and implement IEPs in accordance with student needs and state/federal requirements.
Convene all required meetings related to evaluations and IEPs.
