Job summary

Pleasantville Public Schools invites applications for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Multiple Disabilities. The role requires NJ instructional certificate with Special Education endorsement and proven experience with diverse learners.

You will design lessons aligned to IEPs, collaborate with regular education staff, and maintain a positive classroom climate. Salary per district guidelines; 10-month calendar.

Qualifications

• NJ instructional certificate and Special Education endorsement(s) per regulations (N.J.A.C. 6:11-6.1, 6.2, or 8.1, 8.3 et seq.).
• Experience in teaching children.
• Knowledge of content field and ability to organize content into lessons.
• Knowledge of child growth and development, instructional strategies, classroom management, assessment, and related research.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Residency in New Jersey or obtain residency within one year of employment.
• Proof of citizenship or legal residency by completing Federal Form I-9.

Responsibilities

• Establish high standards for student achievement and behavior.
• Provide instruction to classified pupils per each student's IEP.
• Collaborate with regular education staff to coordinate instruction and provide support.
• Develop lesson plans and materials, and deliver differentiated instruction.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
• Maintain a professional classroom climate and communicate with parents and staff.
