Job summary

LEARN Academy in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking a Special Education Teacher with Moderate to Severe certification to support students with autism and related disabilities. You will develop IEPs, deliver SDI, and collaborate with OTs, SLPs, BCBA, and administrators.

This 10-month, on-site position offers competitive pay and a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Candidates with credentials and experience in challenging behaviors are encouraged to apply; opportunities for supervision for internships may be available.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona Special Education Credential (or enrolled in a program for certification).
• Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, OR an intern student currently in a special education program.
• Autism-specific or related certificate preferred – will be accepted if paired with another teaching credential.
• Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviors preferred.
• Must be able to perform a variety of postures for extended periods of time and follow safety procedures per PCMA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement student IEPs and design and provide specially-designed instruction (SDI).
• Administer instructional activities that create a positive learning climate with active student engagement.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse needs.
• Assist in assessing curricular needs and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with OTs, SLPs, BCBA, Clinical Specialists, and Administrators.
