Job summary

Swansea Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to serve as a long-term substitute at Luther Elementary School in Swansea, MA. The incumbent will support grades 3–5, implementing IEPs and collaborating with staff to maintain continuity of instruction.

The position offers a daily rate of $120 for the first 20 days, with anticipated start on 01/04/2027 and continuation based on district needs. Massachusetts licensure in Special Education is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education and Massachusetts licensure are required.
• Experience with students with disabilities and elementary aged students preferred.
• Familiarity with IEP processes and CORI/fingerprint requirements.
• Massachusetts Special Education Licensure and related credentials.
• SEI endorsement and MCAS Portfolio experience are a plus.

Qualifications Required

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education
• Massachusetts Teacher licensure in Special Education
• Experience: Experience working with students with disabilities
• Experience: Experience working with elementary aged students
• Other: Massachusetts Special Education Teacher Licensure
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs)

Qualifications Preferred

• Education: Master’s Degree in Special Education
• Experience: Experience working at age level of grades 3-5
• Prior experience working in a subseparate setting
• Prior experience providing instruction for special education students
• Prior experience modifying curriculum to meet the specific needs of special education students
• SEI Endorsement
• Experience working within the MCAS Alternative Portfolio process
• Other: Growth mindset; desire to learn and grow
