Responsibilities

• Plan and instruct students on district/state curricula in classroom
• Modify lessons to meet individual IEP goals
• Assess progress and implement standardized assessments
• Review progress with teams, maintain records, and develop interventions
• Meet with teachers, assistants and specialists to discuss needs and interventions
• Participate on problem-solving and intervention teams
• Document progress for IEP reports and goals
• Communicate progress with parents and students in writing
• Establish a safe, positive learning environment and model appropriate behaviors
• Assign work to teacher assistants and provide regular feedback
• Participate in building and district teams, acting as liaison
• Enforce and support school policies and objectives with students and parents
• Collaborate on curriculum and school objectives
• Participate in staff development and school-improvement activities
• Attend events outside regular work day such as orientation/open houses/conferences
