Job summary

Manor Independent School District seeks a dedicated Teacher - Communication Life Skills Special Education for Pioneer Crossing Elementary in Austin. You will develop and modify curricula, collaborate with families and staff, and use diverse instructional strategies and assistive technologies to meet learners’ needs in self-contained or itinerant

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
Texas Special Education teaching certificate with required endorsements for assignments.
At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with scholars, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each scholar.
Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs with written evidence.
Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies reflecting diverse learning styles.
Work with teachers to modify curricula and assist scholars in regular classes.
Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
Use assessment results to plan instructional activities.
Present material according to IEP guidelines.
Employ varied instructional techniques and media for each learner.
Supervise teacher aides and volunteers; use technology in teaching.
