POSITION: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER/LEARNING SPECIALIST

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Special Education Preferred
Two or more years successful teaching experience in Special Education
Massachusetts Certification in Special Education (Moderate/Severe)
REPORTS TO: Special Education Coordinator & Building Principal
JOB GOAL:
Responsible for planning instruction and/or curricula adaptations for included special needs students which allow students to meet high standards and success in typical settings.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Full time, 183-day, School Year Position
Salary and Benefits are consistent with theCollective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.
TheSalary Scheduleis on our website. Salary placement is based on Education and Experience.
Arlington has a well-established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day in the 2025-2026 school year will be August 27, 2025. However, new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
