Job summary

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicatedSpecial EducationTeachers. This is aLife Skills Teacherpositionat our Day School with openings inElgin,Bloomingdale and Geneva, IL.

The starting salary is $61,500 - $65,000based on qualifications andexperience. After your first year the salary will increase by $5,000($66,500 - $70,000 based on qualifications and experience).Additionally, all Teachers will receive a $3,000 contract incentivebonus each year after the first year.

Marklund Day School is a well-known and respected nonpublic schoolserving students ages Pre K-22 who come to our school’s programthrough partnerships with various Chicago suburban schooldistricts.OurDay School is a program of Marklund, a nonprofitorganization that provides residential, therapeutic and educationservices to children and adults with profound developmentaldisabilities. Marklund Day School provides an environment conducive tolearning through specialized curriculum, positive behavioralinterventions, and individualized student support.The Marklund LifeSkills Program is designed to provide specialized support to studentswho have learning and developmental disabilities and those identifiedon the Autism Spectrum.

Our highly sensory-driven program features:

• Deliver individualized instruction to students based upon theirindividual needs


• Provide clear, consistent structure for the classroom, ensuringthat the academic, social, and emotional needs of each student are met


• Draft, create and monitor IEPs for assigned students in classroom


• Supervise and provide feedback for Paraprofessionals


• Teach during our ESY (Extended School Year)

Experience and Skills

Qualifications for this position:
