Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the classroom.
• Plans curriculum and prepares lesson plans and materials tailored to individual student needs and abilities.
• Collaborates with regular education teachers to provide a suitable curriculum for students with disabilities in line with the Tennessee general curriculum.
• Evaluates student progress and manages behavior.
• Attends and conducts IEP meetings.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

• Plans curriculum and prepares lesson plans and other materials, considering factors such as individual needs, abilities, learning levels, learning styles and physical limitations of students.
• Collaborates with regular education teachers in providing an appropriate curriculum for students with disabilities based on the Tennessee general curriculum.
• Evaluates student progress and establishes student behavior.
• Attends and conducts IEP meetings.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
