Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a Special Education Teacher for our Intensive Learning Center (ILC) in Colorado. The role involves creating IEPs, collaborating with staff and families, and delivering engaging lessons to K-12 students in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will hold Colorado state licensure or a valid state teaching license, have at least two years of public school classroom experience, and be in process of CDE licensure if needed.

Qualifications

• Colorado State Special Services Provider OR State Teacher's License required
• Must have or be in process of having CDE license (we cannot sign TEE)
• Experience working with K-12 children
• Must have a minimum of two years of public school classroom experience

Responsibilities

• Create and execute IEPs for each student in your care
• Communicate with staff and families about student progress
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them for approval
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to guide progress
• Invite family members to participate in educational progress
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
• Confer with on-site therapist over behavioral issues
• Maintain a safe, productive classroom environment
