Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with supervised student teaching and coursework in general psychology, human development, history or philosophy of education, and teaching methods for the learning level (elementary or secondary).
• For secondary positions, at least 24 semester hours in each principal field of instruction are required.
• In addition to the above, applicants must have at least 24 semester hours in special education including at least one course on exceptional students and related specialization courses.
• GL-09 requires two years of graduate education leading to a master's degree or a master's/doctoral degree; GS-11 requires three years leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
