Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid NE Teaching Certificate with endorsement in secondary Special Education.
• One to three years experience teaching students with disabilities.
• Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide paraprofessional staff to ensure effective program implementation and student support.
• Plan and deliver instruction using established curriculum frameworks and program requirements.
• Design and implement individualized instructional plans to address students' identified educational needs.
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom and work environment that promotes growth, social skills, problem-solving, and good decision-making.
• Coordinate and utilize paraprofessional staff to support student learning and achievement.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize learning opportunities and instructional time.
• Foster cognitive growth, critical thinking, and lifelong learning in students.
• Promote self-esteem, confidence, and personal development in students.
• Guide the learning process to meet program goals and objectives.
• Select and implement evidence-based instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs.
• Maintain positive communication with parents and staff regarding progress and activities.
• Collaborate with HOH program staff and participate in team meetings and planning.
• Other duties as assigned.
