Job summary

Hands of Heartland, Inc. is hiring a Full Time Special Education Teacher in Omaha, NE. You will supervise paraprofessionals, plan and deliver instruction, and design individualized plans to support students ages 5-21 in multi-categorical instruction, transition and work-based learning.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's in Special Education and NE Teaching Certificate for secondary education.
• Experience with students with disabilities is preferred and based on experience.
• Strong communication, organization and collaboration skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide paraprofessional staff for program support.
• Deliver instruction using established curriculum and requirements.
• Design individualized instructional plans addressing student needs.
• Maintain positive classroom environment and progress records.
• Coordinate with staff, parents and team members to meet student goals.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to maximize learning.
• Foster cognitive growth, critical thinking and lifelong learning.
• Promote self-esteem and personal development in students.
• Communicate progress with parents/guardians regularly.
• Collaborate with HOH program staff and participate in meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
