Job summary

Pelham Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join Pelham Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher will provide specialized instruction and manage IEPs for students with disabilities.

The role requires collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and the Principal to ensure access to the curriculum and supports for academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Massachusetts license in Moderate Disabilities, PreK–8, or other appropriate license.
  • SHELTERED English Immersion endorsement or ability to obtain it in time.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
  • Experience developing and implementing standards-aligned IEPs.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in inclusive, small-group, and individual settings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs reflecting students' strengths and needs.
  • Serve as case manager for assigned students and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to differentiate instruction and support curriculum access.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and adjust interventions.
  • Participate in IEP Team meetings and student-support planning.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding progress and programming.
  • Coordinate services with related service providers and outside agencies.
  • Support positive behavioral interventions and inclusive practices.
