ACCEL Schools LLC seeks a Special Education Teacher for Inkster Preparatory Academy in Inkster, Michigan. You will support educational and behavioral goals for students with an IEP, collaborate with teachers, and implement evidence-based practices in a nurturing, rigorous classroom.

You will conduct assessments, participate in IEP meetings, and communicate with families regarding student progress, contributing to a culture of high expectations and equity.

Qualifications

• Current state teaching license.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in inclusive or co-teaching settings.
• Comfort with growth‑focused coaching and frequent observations.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities and support in intervention strategies.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and write behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals/objectives.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
