Job summary

BASIS DC is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support students with disabilities under an IEP-driven framework. The role involves small-group and 1:1 instruction, coordinating IEP meetings, and advising general education staff on accommodations and services.

Qualifications

• Valid Special Education certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities

• Work with students with disabilities in small groups or 1:1.
• Meet IEP requirements and participate in IEP meetings.
• Provide specially designed instruction and accommodations/modifications.
• Coordinate IEP team meetings and parent communication.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate progress data for IEP goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement IEP requirements.
