Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is seeking a dedicated Special Education teacher to provide learning activities and experiences, matching student abilities and IEP goals. You will prepare lessons, modify curricula, and support students in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant settings.

Responsibilities include collaborating with parents and staff, conducting IEP meetings, and implementing individualized programs. A Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsements is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate in the content area and grade level with special education endorsements.
• Knowledge of IEP goal setting and implementation.
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for students with special needs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs and document preparation.
• Assess student learning styles and plan appropriate instructional strategies and materials.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines and use varied media and technology.
• Work with classroom teachers to modify curricula and support special education students.
• Participate in IEP Committee meetings and in selection of books and instructional media.
