Job summary

Qualifications

• Holds Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsements (460/461/105).
• Must meet health, physical and background check requirements.
• Experience working with students with disabilities is required.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal presentation skills.
• Ability to apply Federal and State regulations for assessment, placement and services for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional, social-emotional and behavioral support to eligible students as per IEPs.
• Attend IEP meetings to assist in determining eligibility and placement decisions.
• Advise general education teachers on implementing behavior plans and accommodations.
• Collaborate with school-based specialists to support positive behavior and development.
• Conduct student assessments as mandated to determine eligibility and program needs.
• Lead data-driven discussions with staff and parents about progress and data explanations.
• Maintain IEPs and necessary documentation in a timely manner.
• Manage day-to-day classroom operations and routines.
• Plan curriculum and materials considering individual student needs and abilities.
• Ensure a disciplined, welcoming classroom environment that supports learning.
• Participate in professional development activities and meetings.
