Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a dedicated special education classroom teacher assigned to the Extended Resource service pathway. You will design and implement instructional plans, adapt standards to meet individual IEP goals, and collaborate with staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Under the supervision of the building principal and program manager, you will monitor student progress, communicate with families, manage behavior, and participate in required compliance trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and licensure in special education.
• Experience teaching diverse urban student populations.
• Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement.
• Ability to plan instruction for students with IEPs and diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement instructional programs for special education students.
• Adapt and modify curricula to meet individual education programs (IEPs).
• Assess student progress and maintain records for parents and administrators.
• Collaborate with families, specialists, and staff to support student growth.
• Establish and enforce positive behavior support and classroom management.
