Job summary

KELL HIGH SCHOOL in Marietta, Georgia, part of the Cobb County School District, seeks a Teacher, Special Education (IRR) to serve ES, MS, and HS students. You will develop and provide an appropriate SPED program aligned to IEPs.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, valid Georgia teaching certificate, and ability to collaborate with parents and general education staff. The starting date is January 4, 2027 with monthly pay in the Teacher pay schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and reviews the IEP for each student on caseload, at least annually
• Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of their child’s educational program
• Completes designated follow-up procedures for students referred for special education service
• Maintains accurate paperwork within designated timelines
• Delivers educational services according to program guidelines and delivery model
• Manages student behavior using data-driven strategies and FBAs/BIPs
• Serves as a resource to general education teachers of students with disabilities
• Maintains lesson plans per policies and/or directives
• Uses formative and summative assessments and reports progress to parents/guardians regularly
• Adheres to district SPED policies, procedures, and federal/state rules
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
