Saint Dominic's Family Services seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to manage daily classroom behavior and implement an individualized academic program for students. The role involves creating targeted lesson plans and coordinating with staff to support each child's growth.

The candidate will hold a BA/BS and NYS certification in special education, with a preference for bilingual English/Spanish and a plan to obtain appropriate NYS teacher certification.

Formación

• BA/BS degree required.
• New York State Certification for Students With Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) Professional Certificate.
• New York State Certification for Students With Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) Initial Certificate.
• New York State Certification – Special Education Teacher Permanent Certificate.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education with plan to obtain NYS certification.

Responsabilidades

• Implements IEP and prepares progress reports with input from staff.
• Develops instructional materials and activities aligned to High Scope curriculum.
• Plans and implements individual and group activities for children.
• Attends team meetings to plan academic and behavioral progress.
• Collaborates with clinical staff to design intervention strategies for children in crisis.
• Maintains open communication with parents and outreach to reluctant parents.
