Position: Special Education Teacher - HS Alternative Program

Description: Vernon Public Schools seeks a Special Education Teacher to join the Total Alternative Learning Center (TALC) at Rockville High School. TALC is a small, structured behavioral program serving students in grades 9-12 with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Rockville High School offers extensive in-building resources and a supportive, student-centered environment. The ideal candidate is an innovative, flexible thinker who can adapt instruction and supports to meet students where they are and respond effectively to the dynamic nature of a therapeutic setting. This candidate will offer strong collaboration, classroom management, flexibility, and relationship-building skills. This position is part of a collaborative team including two special education teachers, a school social worker, and a paraprofessional. The program operates on a modified day schedule and emphasizes relationship-building, individualized instruction, and positive behavioral supports. Experience working with students with emotional/behavioral needs preferred.

Salary and Benefits: The salary range for the 2026-2027 school year is per contract with a competitive benefits package. Please see attached contract for details.
