Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
  • Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the high school level.
  • Strong knowledge of IEPs and ability to develop and implement them effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills when collaborating with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to addressing a range of learning abilities and challenges.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to support differentiated instruction within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ unique learning profiles.
  • Draft, review, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

  • Track student progress, assess learning, and adjust instructional methods to ensure growth.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to create inclusive classroom environments.

  • Communicate proactively with families, providing updates and guidance regarding student performance and needs.

  • Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful classroom culture.
