Job summary

Multnomah ESD in Portland seeks a Teacher, Special Education for the Functional Living Skills (FLS) program at Harrison Park Middle School. You will deliver instructional services to students with significant disabilities and support inclusive learning environments.

You will write IEPs, plan curriculum, monitor progress, and collaborate with parents, staff and related services to meet each student's goals within least restrictive settings. This is a permanent full-time, 190-day position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and ability to obtain a restricted teaching license in Special Education.
• Experience developing and writing IEPs that meet legal requirements.
• Experience teaching in urban settings with diverse students.
• Strong behavior intervention and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a quality instructional program for students with disabilities.
• Write IEPs that meet legal requirements.
• Direct educational and classroom activities, including leading staff.
• Collaborate with staff, administration and families to address student needs.
• Maintain records and meet timelines.
• Implement crisis prevention/intervention strategies.
