Job summary

Lakes Country Academy (LCA) in Fergus Falls, MN, is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students with emotional/behavioral disorders in a Level IV setting. The role emphasizes small caseloads, trauma-informed instruction, and collaboration with a full support team.

The ideal candidate will hold Minnesota SPED licensure (Tier 3/4 preferred), with experience guiding IEPs and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Licensed Minnesota Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4) in Emotional Behavior Disorders (EBD) preferred.
• Tier 1 or 2 licensure, or Out-of-Field Permission.
• Experience working with K-12 students with behavioral challenges preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to K-12 students with emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD) in a Level IV setting.
• Collaborate with a full support team: paraprofessionals, behavior specialists (BCBA/RBT), a school psychologist, and a school social worker.
• Deliver holistic, trauma-sensitive programming blending academics, functional life skills, and employability training.

Job description

Join Lakes Country Academy (LCA), a Level IV setting in beautiful, lake-filled west-central Minnesota, as a Special Education Teacher supporting students referred by their resident school districts.

LCA offers smaller caseloads and staff-to-student ratios than a typical district setting, shorter student days that build in daily time for paperwork, prep, and team collaboration, and a trauma-informed, relationship-based model that blends academics with functional life skills, employability training, and social-emotional learning.

Your Role Will Include:

• Provide specialized instruction to K-12 students with emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD) in a Level IV setting.
