Responsibilities

• Teaches pupils basic learning skills and subject matter.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction with emphasis on basic skill areas which need remediation.
• Provide individualized and small group counseling on educational and personal problems related to total growth and development.
• Monitors and evaluates progress towards goals stated in the IEPs.
• Trains and directs classroom assistants and volunteers in the classroom.
• Communicates with parents and holds conferences to discuss pupil progress.
• Maintains professional competence through district/in-service activities.
