Reports to: Summer Academy Administrator, Assistant Director of Special Education

Position Site: Inver Grove Heights - Hilltop Elementary and Pine Bend Elementary (K-5 District Wide)

Compensation: Hourly Wage $33.24/hour (BA step 2) (Full Day Training will be at the rate of $130 for the full day)

Required Position Dates:

1. Mandatory All Staff Training: Tuesday, June 17, 2023 (8:00 am - 2:00 pm)
2. ESY Program Dates: Mondays - Thursday for 15 school days

June 23-26 Monday -Thursday
June 30-July 2 Monday - Wednesday (No school Thursday, July 3)
July 7-10 Monday -Thursday
July 14-17 Monday-Thursday

Hours: 7:20 - 12:20 pm (Students Hours are 7:40 am - 11:50 am with school doors opening at 7:30 am)

Required Qualifications:

• Current Minnesota teaching license in one or more licensure areas including: ASD, DD, SLD, EBD, DCD, SPL

Job Duties:

Extended School Year Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities and assess student progress towards instructional objectives.
• Complete necessary planning, preparations, and due process requirements.
• Collaborate with grade level teachers and program staff as a Professional Learning Community.
• Greet all students in a welcoming, inclusive manner.
• Attend staff meetings each Monday from 7:00 - 7:20 am.
• Supervise students during breakfast, lunch, and recess.
• Walk students to buses and remain outside until all buses have departed.

Curriculum and Instruction:

• Demonstrate solid content knowledge and pedagogical practices.
• Teach district approved content expectations.
• Deliver differentiated instruction.
• Monitor and assess student progress through both formative and summative assessments.
• Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes caring and respect.

Professional Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with students, peers, and parents.
• Collaborate with others to improve professional practice and student achievement.
• Understand and practice School Board policies and adhere to federal and state laws.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Program Details: Free breakfast and lunch is provided to all students registered for the Summer Academy program. Transportation is available to students who live within the district boundaries.
