Indian Creek Elementary School is part of a small, rural community within DeKalb County. The school serves students from preschool through 4th grade, and enjoys high student engagement and family support.

Job Purpose

To collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to deliver specialized instruction and interventions that meet the unique needs of students with IEPs. They will demonstrate strong instructional skills, a deep understanding of child development, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized instruction to students with IEPs in both inclusive (push-in) and small group (pull-out) settings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support access to grade-level curriculum and accommodations in the classroom.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ academic and behavioral needs.
  • Regularly assess student progress using a variety of tools and adjust instruction to promote growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education guidelines and timelines.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with families, caregivers, and team members regarding student progress and needs.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and ongoing professional learning opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from an accredited university.
