Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Achieve) to join our team in Waco, Texas. You will deliver tailored instruction to students, develop and adapt lesson plans, and work toward district and TEA guidelines while partnering with the special education team to meet IEP goals.

Responsibilities include using diverse instructional strategies, conducting assessments, maintaining records, and communicating with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for the subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and show preparation evidence.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan instructional strategies and materials tailored to student needs.
• Assess student learning and use results to plan further activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
