Cross Country Education in St. Clair Shores, MI is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to help students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and reach their full potential.

The role provides specialized instruction in ELA or Math in a resource setting and requires developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs. You will collaborate with families and school staff to adapt curriculum, implement accommodations, and promote student success, while maintaining compliance with IDEA

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Michigan teaching certificate with SPED endorsement required.
• ELA or Math endorsement required/relevant to assignment.
• Experience in special education settings preferred.

Position Overview

• Provide specialized instruction in English Language Arts (ELA) or Math to students with diverse learning needs in a resource setting.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support student progress and individualized learning goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to adapt curriculum, implement accommodations, and promote student success.
• Maintain compliance with special education regulations, including IDEA and Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE), while fostering a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an applicable Special Education endorsement: Learning Disabilities (SM), Emotional Impairment (SE), Cognitive Impairment (SA), or Autism Spectrum Disorders (SV)
• Valid ELA or Math endorsement relevant to the assignment
• Experience in special education, resource, or self-contained classroom settings preferred
