Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Special Education Teacher Emotional Impairment Strand Sub-separate with an SEI Endorsement who is highly qualified to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders.

This role involves implementing district goals, writing IEP objectives, and providing targeted instruction and accommodations to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays, while collaborating with colleagues to support diverse learners in a high-expectations environment.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree.
  • Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade level.
  • Hold either ESL License at the appropriate level or SEI Endorsement.
  • Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.

Responsibilities

  • Implement district learning goals and objectives aligned with state frameworks.
  • Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.
  • Write and implement IEP goals and provide progress reports.
  • Provide accommodations and develop curriculum as needed for assessments/MCAS Alternative.
  • Collaborate with staff to support student needs for modification.
  • Assist students transitioning to adult living services where appropriate.

Education

Bachelor's degree
Massachusetts Teaching License - Moderate Disabilities
ESL License or SEI Endorsement
