Job summary

Easterseals Academy in Chicago seeks a Special Education Teacher to ensure student health and safety while driving progress toward IEP goals and academic standards. You will develop and monitor classroom programming and collaborate with teams to support each student’s growth.

The role emphasizes data-driven planning, compliance with IEPs, and ongoing communication with families, with a strong focus on delivering engaging, goal-oriented instruction at the Easterseals Academy - Chicago Campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and Illinois State Type 10 teaching certificate or LBS1 (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s Degree with Illinois State teaching certificate and Special Education endorsement or short-term emergency letter of approval.

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly lesson plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Implement activities and prompts linked to IEP goals.
• Lead data-based progress reports and IEP benchmarks.
• Mentor and supervise aides to support student progress.
• Collaborate with admin and clinical teams to support progress.
