Job summary

Phalen Leadership Academies is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to develop and provide specialized instruction tailored to students with disabilities. You will implement IEPs and 504 plans, track progress, and collaborate with teachers to create a supportive learning environment that promotes scholar growth.

The role emphasizes using data-driven assessments, adapting teaching methods, and maintaining organizational skills to meet individual student needs in a caring school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education from an accredited college or university, with appropriate endorsements, if applicable.
• Valid State Teacher License or enrolled in a credentialing program.
• Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction.
• Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and data-driven assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt individualized teaching methods suitable for each scholar.
• Performs assessments and observations to determine areas where students may need extra or modified educational services.
• Identifies students’ needs and develops related lesson and teaching plans.
• Develops and teaches lessons that meet IEPs and 504 plans and engage small groups and individuals.
• Implements IEPs, provides ongoing assessments, tracks progress, and makes modifications.
