Job summary

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students from kindergarten through grade 12 in Dearborn, MI. This role requires collaboration with the general education staff to plan and implement student programs including special instruction and tutorial assistance.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree and a valid state teaching certificate; LBS1 endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Special Education Teacher provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator.
• Participates in planning and implementing student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

Valid state teaching certificate
