Portland Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher for the Breathe Program at Lyman Moore Middle School. The role oversees IEP delivery and coordinates services with the Breathe Program Social Worker and BCBA to tailor instruction and progress toward IEP goals in both mainstream and special education settings.
You will lead IEP meetings, ensure compliance with Maine regulations, collaborate with school staff, and communicate progress to families.

Portland Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified special educator for our Breathe Program at Lyman Moore Middle School. The Special Education Teacher / Case Manager works with Breathe Program students in both mainstream and special education settings, and collaborates with the Breathe Program Social Worker and BCBA to determine optimal programming for students. The Breathe Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing the delivery of services in students’ Individual Education Plans and providing specialized instruction to ensure that each student progresses in meeting IEP goals.

The Portland Public Schools gives parents an array of program choices. The district as one of the first in the country to offer project-based Expeditionary Learning from kindergarten through 12th grade.
High school students have access to one of the broadest selections of Advanced Placement courses in Maine. Qualified high school students may take up to two college courses with tuition paid by the state.
