Job summary

Chelsea Public Schools' Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support PK students diagnosed with autism. You will develop and implement IEPs, provide instruction in an inclusive classroom, and collaborate with families and staff to promote student growth.

The ideal candidate has MA licensure, knowledge of the state curriculum, and experience with evidence-based practices for ASD. Strong communication and classroom management are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Massachusetts DESE teacher licensure for the assignment.
• Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement (SEI) for core content teachers.
• Ability to work with diverse population.
• Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, instruction, and assessment.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and RTI helpful.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and assess curriculum and instruction.
• Instruct assigned students at the designated times/locations.
• Develop a program of study meeting student needs and abilities.
• Provide effective instruction with clear goals and appropriate techniques.
• Use innovative instructional strategies, including technology to boost learning.
• Maintain a conducive learning environment and high expectations for achievement.
• Document progress and communicate with families and district staff.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities and maintain records as required.
• Collaborate with administration and other staff to implement policies.
